My experience as a Ghyston Intern - quickfire Q&A with Harry Best

Over the last couple of months, we have had a group of interns working closely with the team here at Ghyston. We had a quickfire Q&A with Harry about his experience – here's what he had to say!

How have you found the Intern placement at Ghyston?
A very good experience. Something that I’m really happy to have done.

Did anything unexpected come out of the experience?
Maybe a (debatable) improvement in pool from the office pool table!

Has the experience helped give you a focus or direction for your career?
Yes definitely. It’s helped me understand that software development is probably something that I want to do in the future.

What was it like working with a professional team of developers for the first time?
Pretty intense at the start but it was helpful having someone experienced around that I could ask questions to and learn from. It’s shown me the differences between good and maintainable code and bad code.

If you were describing the experience to a friend, what would you say?
It was a good internship with a fun company to work for filled with very bright, talented people.

What was your favourite part of the experience?
Working with other Ghyston employees because everyone has been very skilled and enjoyable to work with – or maybe the lard cupboard which is full of sweets and chocolate!
